Course of Tai-chi Tuishou

This course belongs to the intermediate level in terms of physical difficulty and is suitable for those interested who want to work on improving the action and reaction to the strength of the opponent. Transport techniques lead to relaxation of the body and mind and to an appropriate response to an oncoming attack without the use of physical force. The content of the course is techniques for perceiving the opponent’s energy, changes in defensive and offensive techniques and their application in a free combat.

What is martial art Tai-chi Tuishou

Taichi Tuishou is a way of a fighting where we use our own strength and energy to neutralize the opponent. These are not punches or kicks, but rather diverting the attack and deflecting the opponent into a disadvantageous position, where other applications can then follow. Taichi Tuishou techniques utilize the relaxation of the body and the inner strength of the spirit. The movements are based on ancient Tai-chi sets. Practicing these techniques is essential to a deeper understanding of Tai-chi kung-fu.

Tai-chi Tuishou course details

The teaching is conducted personally by Mgr. Ondřej Diviš, long-time student of Master Zhai Hongyin, graduate of Charles University of Prague from PE and Sport and fitness trainer.

The contents of each lesson are preparatory exercises, which are aimed at perceiving the strength of the opponent and improving the speed of reaction of the body and spirit to an attack. Supporting the skill of mental concentration, when we try to react to an opponent’s attack in a relaxed manner and almost without physical strength and use his movement for our own purpose. The course is suitable for both beginners and advanced, regardless of current physical fitness. Knowing and practicing the Tai-chi sets that Taichi Tuishou is based on is an advantage.

Where and how we practice Tai-chi Tuishou

Tai-chi Tuishou lessons take place in Prague all year round in the Letna park (Prague 7). Lessons are canceled only when is going to heavy rain. During the year, the practice location changes due to daylight, so I will inform you of the current location after receiving your application. The course is in Czech and English.

I also recommend taking the courses of the Shaolin kung-fu, to increase endurance and energy in your body and deepen your kung-fu cultivation.
